Compression tools that respect you

DesignMode24 started with a simple annoyance: every “free” online compressor wanted an account, queued your files on a stranger’s server, and watermarked the result unless you paid. We thought the browser itself was powerful enough to do the job — so we built tools that prove it.

What we believe

• Your files are yours. Compression that requires uploading is a privacy compromise dressed as convenience. Ours never uploads.
• Free should mean free. No credit card walls, no expiring trials, no feature-hostage negotiations.
• Honest numbers beat marketing. We show original size, new size and percentage saved — even when the savings are small.
• Small, fast, maintainable. One hand-built theme, no page-builder bloat, no 40-plugin stack. The site loads fast because there’s nothing slowing it down.

How the tools are built

Each compressor uses standard web platform APIs: Canvas for images, JSZip (DEFLATE) for archives, and MediaRecorder/WebCodecs pipelines for audio and video. No proprietary binaries, no server farm — just your device doing honest work. The whole site runs on WordPress with a custom theme we wrote ourselves, which is why it doesn’t look like every other SaaS template.

Where we’re headed

Today: four solid, free compressors. Next: batch processing, presets, and an optional Pro tier for power users — with the free tools staying free forever. If you have a feature request or found a bug, we actually read every message.
